Sussan Ley Says 'Yeah Nah' to the Environment

Sussan Ley is depicted talking to a group of teenagers twice. The first time she says, 'I look after the environment', the teens respond, 'So you're caring for our future!' The second time, she says, 'I don't have to look after it that well'.

In 2021 a group of eight teenagers and an 86-year-old nun secured a federal court judgement against Environment Minister Sussan Ley. The court ruled that, when considering the approval of fossil fuel projects, the minister had a duty of care to protect young people from the climate crisis. Ley appealed the decision, and the court overturned it on 15 March 2022.
