Climate Control

A cocktail party with red curtains. Independent MPs stand together. Anthony Albanese and Chris Bowen stand together saying how 'cozy' it is. Bowen asks whether he should turn the temperature down.

The ‘teal independents’, mostly first-time MPs, negotiated with the Albanese government to amend Labor’s climate target bill. The teal-backed amendments included requirements that emissions reduction be based on the best available science and that the agreed-to 43 per cent reduction target be seen as the minimum standard.
