The ‘light on the hill’ phrase was first used in a 1949 conference speech by Prime Minister Ben Chifley to describe the objective of the Labor Party. Here Peter Broelman uses the phrase to riff on the energy policy directions that each side of politics was considering post-election. Nationals leader David Littleproud claimed that disagreement about nuclear policy was a major reason for the Coalition split.
