In June the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) declined to pursue corruption investigations into six public officials that had been referred to it in 2023 by the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme. The NACC said the conduct of the public officials had already been explored by the Royal Commission and that five of the six public officials were also the subject of referrals to the Australian Public Service Commission. However, in late October the NACC decided to reconsider its decision not to investigate these referrals.
