At the Liberal party campaign launch, Prime Minister Scott Morrison unveiled a policy by which first homebuyers could access up to $50,000 of their superannuation to put toward a deposit on a house. Superannuation funds and the opposition both criticised the policy, suggesting it would increase house prices even further and lower the investment returns on super.
