There's a New Boogeyman in Town

Pauline Hanson holds a flashlight, looking at her hand which says, 'Welcome to country'. Text on the left reads, 'There's a new boogeyman in town'.

On the first sitting day of the new parliament, One Nation Party leader Pauline Hanson walked out of the chamber in protest when Senate President Sue Lines acknowledged the Traditional Owners of the Canberra region. Hanson claimed the acknowledgement was divisive. Other senators condemned her actions. The acknowledgement, as well as a prayer, has been a part of the opening day of parliament for more than a decade.
