A Long Six Weeks

A woman votes at a ballot box after wading through shoulder-high mud to get there, she says, 'It's been a long six weeks'. The mud is littered with 'how to vote' cards, a microphone, a house roof and a barrel.

The six-week long election campaign had felt even longer to many, having anticipated an election being called since late December. Harry Bruce reflects on the mud, floods, submarines and pork barrels voters had to wade through on their way to the ballot box.
