Conditions of entry
To help us ensure the safety of all visitors and staff, and to protect our heritage building and exhibition displays, please observe the following:
- Visitors must obey all signage, and any reasonable direction given by staff or security.
- Food and drink are not permitted in the exhibition and heritage areas.
- Large bags, backpacks and bulky items, such as umbrellas and helmets, must be cloaked at the reception desk. The Museum reserves the right to prohibit any items that may be considered to pose a risk to people, the building or its contents.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the building or its courtyards.
- Photography for personal use is permitted unless otherwise indicated. Tripods are not permitted. Any filming and photography for publication or commercial use must receive prior approval. To submit a request, please complete our contact form.
- Accredited assistance animals are welcome. All other animals are prohibited.
- Visitors must comply with health and safety instructions and take reasonable care not to put themselves or others at risk.
- Security cameras are installed throughout the Museum.
- Visitors who do not comply with Museum notices, or who engage in conduct that poses a threat to the building or its exhibits, or to the personal safety of staff, volunteers or other visitors, may be directed to leave the Museum by an authorised officer.
