Conditions of entry
To help us ensure the safety of all visitors and staff, and to protect our heritage building and exhibition displays, please observe the following:
- Visitors must obey all signage, and any reasonable direction given by staff or security.
- Food and drink are not permitted in the exhibition and heritage areas.
- Large bags, backpacks and bulky items, such as umbrellas and helmets, must be cloaked at the reception desk.
- The Museum reserves the right to inspect bags. If requested, please present bags for a visual inspection. Any items that may pose a risk to people, the building or its contents will be prohibited.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the building or its courtyards.
- Photography for personal use is permitted unless otherwise indicated. Tripods are not permitted. Any filming and photography for publication or commercial use must receive prior approval. To submit a request, please complete our contact form.
- Accredited assistance animals are welcome. All other animals are prohibited.
- Visitors must comply with health and safety instructions and take reasonable care not to put themselves or others at risk.
- Security cameras are installed throughout the Museum.
- Visitors who do not comply with Museum notices, or who engage in conduct that poses a threat to the building or its exhibits, or to the personal safety of staff, volunteers or other visitors, may be directed to leave the Museum by an authorised officer.
