Students will have the opportunity to hear Andy read from his non-fiction picture book, Backyard Buddies. During this session, they will discover some of the fascinating pollinators living in their backyard, engage in a drawing session, and consider everyday ways we can care for bees (and other pollinators).
Backyard Buddies incorporates a delightful mix of humour with accessible factual information for young people. Students will be drawn to the adorable illustrations, visual details estimating size and location, coupled with just the right amount of information to hook them into wanting to know more.
As part of this experience, the Museum of Australian Democracy education team will help students inquire into ways they can support backyard buddies at home, school, or in their local community.
