International Day of Democracy with the Hellenic Museum

Join us this International Day of Democracy for a special collaborative event with the Hellenic Museum education team.

The Hellenic Museum specialises in all things Greek, and what better way to celebrate democracy than to explore its origins in ancient Greece? Students will hear stories and explore objects from ancient Greece, and connect with the MoAD learning team to learn about modern democracy in Australia.

About the Hellenic Museum

The Hellenic Museum is an art and history museum founded in 2007. They promote a passion for, and appreciation of the rich cultural traditions of ancient and contemporary Greece.

Occupying the landmark former Royal Mint building, the Hellenic Museum continues to be a prominent cultural destination in Melbourne. Hundreds of objects spanning over 8,000 years of Greek history are on display in the museum's galleries, in addition to numerous contemporary exhibitions.

By bringing together multiple artistic disciplines and perspectives, the Hellenic Museum aims to present a holistic experience of Greek culture and the contribution it has made, and continues to make, to contemporary society.
